    F-18 Blue Angels

    I bought a model aircraft F-18 Blue Angels EDF Plug-n-Fly RC Jet


    This is a cheap model aircraft, it costs only $74.95!

    A box with the plane was packed into just a big box of thick cardboard. Chineses filled a free space with air bags. :) As a result, the parcel arrived completely intact and not crumpled.



    Aircraft parts are made of foam and painted in blue with metallic. I must say that the plane looks very nice. Compartment under the battery is quite sufficient for it Does the battery 1300mA 3S, but now the wires from the battery is very difficult to cram in there. Staffing, to connect the battery connector is used XT60.

    Compartment under the receiver is not very big, but the Spectrum AR6110 receiver there calmly climbs. On closer examination was found to control HobbyKing 30A. (Interestingly, at the site of such regulation does not sell.)



    Once all details have been examined by me has decided to proceed to the assembly.

    Included with the airplane comes with two tubes of glue. This 2

    All is good, but the hinges are not glued very smoothly and in some places they
    covered with glue. As a result, the course rudders pretty tight.





    Originally serfs on the wings are connected via Y-cable. I decided that I do not want to lose the use flapperonov and so on. and replaced the Y-cable for 2 20cm extender. Then pasted wings, stuck landing gear and the plane was almost ready.

    It remained only to hang traction on the rudder.
    Picked up traction, one reason was the curve and the second level.
    Established a direct thrust. Then, on the other hand found a bent rod. Turn on the power and ... Progress in the surface with a curved rod I did not like. Thrust bent and the plane was almost on the spot: (.
    Without hesitation. I straightened up and thrust found its way-the same as on the first side.

    Now I am waiting for another fiasco. Rudder went as ailerons - in different directions.

    Elevator control is implemented by using 2-serv and they certainly worked in different directions. That is why one thrust was bent. It was a reversal of the hardware:)

    I left 2 options: bend a new thrust or reversnut one serv software. I chose the second option. (The good channels in the receiver still had).

    For this purpose it was necessary to replace another Y-cable to a normal power strip.

    I must say that when the wing is glued, to drag an extension cord into the bay with the receiver was very difficult.

    But after 20 minutes of suffering to me it's still possible.



    In the near future I hope overflew this miracle. While the weather does not allow (wind - horror)

    At room rolls very cool:). Impeller running smoothly, no vibration ...


    Part 2: Flying around

    Finally turned out to be a good evening (almost no wind). We arrived at the field in the Park Aviators and a little training on the F-22.

    The spectators were waiting and I slipped quietly down the runway:

    After a 20-meter takeoff the plane took off. Already in the air, I realized that I forgot to install the double spending and the exponential on the ailerons and elevator. The plane was very frisky on the ailerons and twisting in the light barrel.


    The first landing was harsh, resulting in bounced steering wheel.

    After debriefing and minor repairs have decided to make the second flight. Established an exponential 40% and reduced costs.



    Airplane I liked. Very obedient. Craving for a nominal installation a little less than unity.
